At St Paul’s C of E Primary School, our science teaching aims to foster and develop our pupils' natural curiosity by providing a range of opportunities to build on their working scientifically skills. Science lessons provide our pupils with the skills to question and discuss science based issues that may affect their own lives, the direction of society and the future of the world.
As part of our curriculum, we aim to provide all pupils with the opportunity to immerse themselves in enquiries related to both their own experiences and the wider world and ensure that they have the opportunity to carry out physical investigations to test predictions and deepen their understanding.
Our staff ensure that all pupils are exposed to a full range of scientific vocabulary and experiences that allow them to become confident in articulating and expressing their own ideas. By Year 6, our pupils will be able to effectively communicate their scientific thinking, choosing vocabulary carefully to support this, as well as critically evaluate concepts presented to them.
